Hi, Ive just joined, never thought I would but here goes….
My 59 year old husband was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic kidney cancer on June 23rd, hard to believe as he was fit & healthy two month ago. No symptoms apart from fatigue & weight loss since mid May. I have a good network of friends, everyone commenting on how strong I am, including my husband but inside I’m broken, scared and feel guilty that Im well and he isn’t. I don’t want to burden anyone with my sadness and shock! I feel like my head is going to explode
Hi Wiffi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your husband has recently been diagnosed with kidney cancer and I can understand what a shock it will have been to you both.
I can see that you've already joined and posted in the carers only group, which is a great place to share your worries and emotions with others who have a loved one living with cancer.
If you want to be able to ask questions and share experiences around kidney cancer, then I'd recommend that you join the kidney cancer group. To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
It would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hello and thank you. Im finding how the group works and have just done the things you suggested. Many thanks
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
