Hi.
im a 58 year old woman and recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I will need a mastectomy but am still having more tests. And awaiting more biopsy results.
I have just been told my MRI scan has showed up small things on my liver !! This has scared me They say it is most probably cysts but I was wondering if anyone else had this show up on an MRI scan and it turned out to be cysts
They are pretty sure I have DCIS cancer. I’ll know more after the results of the second lot of biopsies. I expect they will scan my liver soon too.
The waiting to start a plan of action is hard
Hi Nikanna and welcome to the Online Community but I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
Navigating the cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from others who have walked the ‘exact same' journey can help a lot.
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) and I do see that you have already joined our dedicated Breast cancer support group. This group is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, to ask questions and get support.
To connect you n with the group click on the “Bold Link” I have created above then once the group page opens you can then put up your own post when you’re ready by clicking “+new” or “+” in the top right next to the group title. You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post. You can also scroll through other members posts and click “Reply” to get involved.
It’s a challenging time for you so you may want to use the Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 or via Webchat and Email too. This service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear. We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.
Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
Do get back to me if you need further help navigating the community.
I had a radiotherapy planning appointment for breast cancer and they spotted something on my kidney. I’ve just had CT scan 2 days ago so I know exactly how you’re feeling. The wait and worry is horrendous. You deal with one thing and then something else. It’s just prolonging the stress for us all. I hope you will get answers soon. Keep me posted x
That’s exactly it You deal with one thing then something else needs to be checked. I do hope all turns out to be ok with your kidney. The doctors are amazing and I guess we must learn to be more patient.
take care and hopefully we will have good as can be results soon so we can move in n with our journey
beet wishes Nikki
