Bereavement

Hello again

I managed to speak to a lovely lady called Liz on here who is an adviser.

I am finding all these links a little confusing. Two weeks ago my children lost their mother to lung cancer. They are only 17 and 21. I just wanted some feed back from the community as to the best approach to support my children through this devastating time. They were very close to their mother and to be honest it feels like our world has collapsed. I to have a wonderful relationship with my kids. Any feed back would be most grateful. I tried to press on the links Liz sent me but it’s showing blank or message page can’t open.

    Hi James

I'm very sorry to read that your children have recently lost their mother to cancer and you have lost your partner.

I can see that my friend TheHighlander responded to your first message in New to the Community just over a week ago and recommended that you join the bereaved spouses and partners group (link).

To join the group, and connect with others in a similar situation to yourself, just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. Once you've joined the group you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

I hope this helps you to find your way to the group so that you can ask others how they supported their children.

    Hi again James

I've had a look at the reply you had from Liz, one of the Macmillan advisers, and can see that none of the links she has given you work. I've reported this to the online community moderators, so that they can get these links updated, and asked them to let you know when they're available.

I'm sorry this has happened at such a difficult time for you.
