Hi, I've just joined, I was diagnosed in September 2022, I'm after advice for cheap travel insurance if any one can help please, I'm shocked how high it is, feeling trapped now as can't afford the cost of insurance.
Hi Katlin and welcome to the community.
As you see affordable Travel Insurance can be a challenge and at times the price could be higher than the cost of the holiday.
Comparison sites tend to use the same algorithms so getting a clear price can be difficult and it’s not that unusual to be turned down or told to call the insurers.
It’s actually more effective to call a few insurers directly as this means that you have answered all the questions correctly and in doing this a suitable policy can be offered and price given.
Do have a look through the 'recommended travel insurance' thread and this New Thread in our Travel insurance group as it's where the majority of recommendations from other forum members are. You can also look through all the individual members posts in the group as well.
All the best with your search.
Hi Katlin and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Unfortunately, as you've found, it can be more difficult to find reasonably priced travel insurance when you've had a cancer diagnosis so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the travel insurance group.
To join just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, look for the thread called 'Recommended Travel Insurance' (currently on page 6 in the group) as it's where the majority of recommendations are to be found. There are lots of recommendations in the thread so it's best to compile a list and then sit down with a big cup of tea and start phoning.
