Hi everyone, im Marie am a 52yr old female, domestic violence survivor, i had a mass discovered after i collapsed in usa where i lived with my abusive husband, they scanned and found my gallbladder needed out, then discovered the mass on my kidney too, i was living in seriously poor conditions and through the kindness of a social worker in the usa i was helped to get safe and get home, however im currently living with my elderly parents and thats already difficult as my dad has severe parkinsons which causes outbursts, and its affecting my mental health, now i have been.recently diagnosed with left renal cancer with surgery scheduled in a couple of weeks, and my dad isnt helping with my frame of mind, with all ive gone through im struggling now, i feel i need to have my own space so i can focus on my self care so i can fight all the way, but i have zero income and am rebuilding my life after the abuse, and it sucks as i feel like on one side i have cancer and the other my ill dad
Hi Mythicdreamer and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read how much you've gone through recently ending with a recent diagnosis of kidney cancer.
I can see that you've already joined and posted in the kidney cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support. I'm sure members of that group will be along shortly to reply to your post.
It would be great if you could pop something about about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
x
