Endometrial Cancer HELP

I was told I have Endometrial Cancer last Tuesday over the telephone, it was a huge shock.  I've had a secondary biopsy and CT Scan I'm just waiting for these results to work out a treatment plan.  I have to wait 10 days for the results.

Unfortunately I've had mental health problems for many years and with this I just can't cope with the range of emotions.  Is there anything I can do to help myself without medication?

  • Hi   land welcome to the Online Community but I am sorry to hear about your Endometrial Cancer diagnoses.

Navigating the cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from others who are dealing with the ‘exact same' cancer type can help a lot.

The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) but I can see that you have already joined and put up a post in our Womb (uterus) cancer support group. This is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

It’s a challenging time for you so you may want to use the Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 or via Webchat and Email too. This service provide cancer information, practical information, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear.

We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.

Macmillan have also teamed up with Bupa to offer up to 6 free counselling sessions for people struggling emotionally because they are living with cancer. Clicking on the link will give you more information about this.

Do get back to me if you need further help navigating the community.
