Hi I am new here and wish everyone well … I have pre cancer on vulva and have to start treatment using imiquimod cream. Consultant said to slather it on due to it being all over clitoris however after reading other’s experience I’m now not sure about it all. If anyone has any tips or experience to share it would be appreciated. Using the cream means I may not need surgery but if I do it might only be half that’s cut out. I’m considering just asking for a full cut and get it over with . I’m 59 so not bothered about losing it all.
Hi Anne G and welcome to the Online Community but I am sorry to see you joining us. Navigating a medical journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from others who have experience of the ‘exact same' challenges can help a lot.
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) so can I recommend consider joining and posting in our Vulva cancer forum support group. This is a safe place to talk to others with a similar treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
To join a group click on the “Bold Link” I have created above then once the group page opens click on “Click to Join” when the black banner appears or “Join” under “Group Tools” (this all depends on the device you are using)
You can put up your own post and introduce yourself to the group by clicking “+new” or “+” in the top right next to the group title. You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post. You can also scroll through other members posts and click “Reply” to get involved.
