I have just been diagnosed with cancer, I had a biopsy on Wednesday this week to determine if it started in the ovary or peritoneum, I find the waiting one of the worst problems, I keep thinking these Aliens in my body are moving around,
I was told I will lose my hair as the Gynae chemo is known for hair loss, I am to have chemo 3 sessions 3 weeks apart and then possible surgery,
I have started to but head coverings and eyebrow stencils, also a pen for marking eyebrows.
Hoping to start my recovery soon and trying to stay positive, I have a caring husband and sons plus great friends and family.
stay positive everyone, treatments are improving all the time.
Hi Lotus7 and welcome to the Online Community but I am sorry to hear about your diagnoses. Navigating the cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from others who are dealing with the ‘exact same' cancer type can help a lot.
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) so once you have a clear diagnosis you can look through THIS LIST where you will find all our many dedicated cancer support groups listed. These groups are safe places to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
When you are ready to connect in with a group click on the [Bold Link] I have created above, then once you find the group for your cancer type click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then put up your own post when you’re ready by clicking “+new” or “+” in the top right next to the group title. You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post. You can also scroll through other members posts and click “Reply” to get involved.
