Hi,

Very recently been diagnosed with Metastic Prostate Cancer.

Initially lowish (high average) PSA, so had MRI, which showed "something" in Prostate Gland but NOT outside, so booked for Biopsy. That was delayed due to asymptomatic UTI. Then had LATP Biopsy, which confirmed Cancer  So sent for PET CT scan (targeted radioactive isotope to spot "any microscopic" mjgration)

Now got Hormone injection, and about to start enzalutamide Hormone tablets.

All this in just a couple of months -- How does anyone cope with this - I'm looking for positive 'vibes' but it's almost like every twist and turn brings worsening news.

Anyone out there able to share hope/good progress/positivity  ???

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you have been been diagnosed with prostate cancer that's spread and it's natural to look for positivity.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join the prostate cancer group which will mean you can connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
