One of my parents (in their 70s) was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. It was unexpected and the whole family are still reeling from it, let alone my parent who has been diagnosed.
I've not been in work since I found out as I keep crying.

Hi AJay15 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that one of your parents has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and I know what a difficult time this might be for the whole family.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend some for you to join. The first is the lung cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences about your parent's diagnosis and treatment.
The next is either the carers only group, if you are your parent's carer, or the family and friends group, if you're not their carer. Both of these groups are safe and supportive places to discuss your worries and emotions with other people who have a loved one living with cancer.
To join any of these groups, just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
It would be great if you could pop something about your parent's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
