Morning everyone I hope you are all doing as well as you can be today. This is my first post and to say I am lost is an understatement. So recently I started to fill a lump in my stomach when I was lying down, no pain at all but it was there. I went to the doctor who thought it was a hernia of some nature following a c section I had with my son. However I went for an ultrasound yesterday and they found an 11cm lump in my ovary. The doctor couldn’t tell me much at the time and has said I need a CT and an MRI scan but he did say it could be cancer…! The not knowing and waiting is so difficult! I didn’t sleep at all last night and I can’t help but think the worst and so worried for my children. How do you cope with the not knowing! Thank you
Hi GCPL and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I know how difficult waiting for the results of tests can be, especially when the possibility of cancer has arisen.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the ovarian cancer group, not because I think you have this, but because you'll be able to ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who have been where you are now.
To join just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
It would be great if you could pop something about your tests so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
