Hi, I’m going to be 60 this year, it was a shock to be diagnosed with cancer, out of the blue. I have had my left breast removed and reconstructed. My right breast is going to be done for symmetry next year. I have been very lucky with my treatment. I find out next week if I need chemo, although my surgeon doesn’t think I will. I hope everyone is as well as can be expected. X
Hi Boxer123 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you have been diagnosed with lobular breast cancer and I can remember how shocked I was when diagnosed last April.
The online community is divided up into different support groups, so I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group so you can connect directly with others to ask questions, share experiences and give and receive support
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hello, I’m new to the group- I’m sorry about your cancer diagnosis - I too have been diagnosed- with grade two invasive lobular carcinoma on my right breast- they’re checking my sentinel node two cos it might have spread. We’re u recommended tohave a mastectomy? I’m told I need a lumpectomy& lymph node removal.I really hope you’re doing well now! Take care
Hi Crunchiesmum and a very warm welcome to the online community.
I'm sorry to read that you have also been diagnosed with lobular breast cancer so I'm going to make the same recommendation to you as I did to Boxer123 and that's to join the breast cancer group so you can connect directly with others to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
