Hi I need help to know if what I feel whilst having chemo is right. I know we all have different journeys . I am on the 12th chemo session which I have everywhere. I have it on Wednesday, by Sunday I have to sleep all day and Monday and Tuesday my energy is zero is this okay ?
Hi Mayo and welcome to the Online Community but I am sorry to hear about your diagnoses and your ongoing challenges with Fatigue. From my long experience with my chemo fatigue does accumulate over your treatments but every chemo type can have a different effect but yes this level of fatigue can be normal.
Navigating the cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from others who are dealing with the ‘exact same' cancer type can help a lot. The Community is actually divided into dedicated support groups (discussion rooms) but you don’t say what type of cancer you have but if you care to have a look through THIS LIST you will find all our many dedicated cancer support groups listed. These are safe places to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
When you are ready to connect in with a group click on the [Bold Link] I have created above, then once you find the group for your cancer type click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then put up your own post when you’re ready by clicking “+new” or “+” in the top right next to the group title. You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post. You can also scroll through other members posts and click “Reply” to get involved.
Our Support Line teams are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00, email or live webchat where you will find one of team there to help you out. We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.
Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
Do get back to me if you need further help.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
