I cannot find a hair salon that will help me with hair loss and a wig. I have looked on line but most seem to be operating from home.
Has anyone had experience of this in Southampton or the surrounding area.
Hello shedfield girl
Have you asked at the hospital treating you? Mine has a wig lady who works with a hairdresser and they came to the hospital once a week. My oncologist was actually able to refer me to them and the lady called me the next day and arranged for me to come and see her at the cancer centre a couple of weeks later. She was able to accept the NHS wig voucher. Made a big difference.
There are a couple of links here that may also help.

My New Hair- is half way down on the Macmillan link- but it lets you do a search for your area.
Hope this may help, if there is anything else please let me know
Jane
Thanks for your quick reply. What was the name of the wig lady and the name of the hairdresser. Were they in Southampton. Thanks
They were Bristol based - but I wonder if there may be similar local to you that the hospital can put you in touch with. It must be a common thing to ask about
Thanks Jane. You were right, the hospital can help and seems to have the services you mention. Thank you so much, a weight off my shoulders.
That is brilliant news. If there's anything else please let me know.
