Good morning everyone

my grandad had cancer 13 years ago which he beat, but then 2 years ago it came back Cry he was in Pallative care straight away, but he fought every step off the way for just over 2 years, we lost him on 17th April and it’s been so so hard, Cry I don’t know what I’m doing half the time, like the world is spinning and I’m stood still. I just don’t know how life is meant to carry on Cry my life has been so consumed with looking after him and my grandma for the last 2 years. It’s impacting every part of my life.
And to top it off my mother has been diagnosed with bowel cancer! I just can’t cope! Cry

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

It sounds like you're going through an incredibly tough time at the moment, and I'd like to offer my condolences on the passing of your grandad recently.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend a few groups for you to think about joining.

The first is the bereaved family and friends group where you can share your feelings and emotions with others who have lost a loved one to cancer as well as give and receive support.

The next group is the bowel cancer group as that will give you the chance to ask questions and share experiences about your mum's diagnosis and treatment.

Finally there's the  family and friends and group, which you'll find is a safe and supportive place to share your worries and emotions with others who have someone they love living with cancer.

To join any or all of these groups just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
