Hi I am going into hospital tomorrow 27th April 2023 for a right breast mastectomy. I am very scared and worried about the operation and  afterwards.  Not sure if I will be able to look at myself anymore

The more I think about it the more I keep crying. I was diagnosed in the first covid lockdown so three years ago.  I have breast cancer and secondary cancer  with mass,s on my lungs.

Had chemo tablets for 18 months, doctors said it was not working for me the way it should have been. So off tablets for a bit. Then another cancer lump decides to grow in the same breast.

Sorry  for the text  not to make any sense to anyone  love Bat xx

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I understand how scary operations are having had a lumpectomy this time last year. However, you'll find lots of support within the online community.

As the community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join the secondary breast cancer group so you can connect directly with others who have had the same type of cancer as you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
