Hi all
I had Hogkins Lymphoma in 2007 with 12 rounds of ABVD and was cured. I had a mole removed last year on my back and was stage 1a melanoma and have my last check up next month. I have had texture changes on my areola and I am waiting g to see the Breast cancer clinic.
my mental health over the years has been very up and down and have just started taking sertraline again due to what I can only describe as flashbacks and severe health anxiety which I have accepted under these circumstances to be natural. I’m not so worried about the investigation for BC but I’m worried about my last check up next month for my melanoma and what if it comes back. The Hogkins was one thing but a second different cancer and to lose the reassurance my check ups give me has me very stressed.
this forum helped my many years ago when I started my forum called teenager with cancer and met Lots of people that supported each other and I think I need that again.
sending love
Hi Serephina2109 and welcome back to the Online Community but I am sorry to hear about you now being investigated for BC
Having already navigated the cancer journey twice with your HL and Melanoma I can only imagine the frustration of possibly have to get back on the rollercoaster.
I have a rare incurable type of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, I have been on my treatment journey for coming up to 24 years so I fully understand that having a Lymphoma diagnosis and going through treatments like ABVD as you have and the many treatment I have had does open us up to other cancers….. but our hope is that this never happens and my hope for you is that this is not BC.
As you know the Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) so for this journey can I recommend consider joining our supportive Breast cancer support group. This is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
The community platform has changed over the years so to join a group click on the “Bold Link” I have created above then once the group page opens click on “Click to Join” when the black banner appears or “Join” under “Group Tools” (this all depends on the device you are using)
You can put up your own post and introduce yourself to the group by clicking “+new” or “+” in the top right next to the group title. You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post. You can also scroll through other members posts and click “Reply” to get involved.
Do get back to me if you need further help ((hugs))
Thank you for sharing your journey after having read your profile my hat is off to you as a fellow warrior. It’s heard sometimes to keep going but we do. I have joint a few of the groups and hope for the best as I do with you
Hi again, we all do what we need to do to keep in front of the challenges. I see that you have connected in and I am sure you will get some great support.
All the very very best and keep trusting in hope ((hugs))
