Hi. I'm a 45-yr old male. Last week I was told I likely had colon cancer following a colonoscopy. Today I had my prognosis following a biopsy at the colonoscopy and a CT scan. I didn't exactly take everything in today, but out of all the possible outcomes my mind had, it's probably the third best. I'm going to have my ascending colon removed. They did say that there were 3 swollen lymph nodes but that doesn't mean it's spread... and it hasn't gone in to the bowel wall... and they will do more testing afterwards. No stoma or chemo is currently foreseen. They did say it was stage 2-3, which sounds bad, but maybe it isn't if they are able to cut it out.
Hi ForgottenThorn and welcome to the Online Community but I am sorry to hear about your diagnoses.
Navigating the cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from others who are dealing with the ‘exact same' cancer type can help a lot.
I do see that you joined and put up a post in our Bowel (colon and rectum) cancer support group. This is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
