Hi underwent three sessions ofBrentuximab total during the course of my recent treatment. I’ve been battling cancer on and off for almost 8 years. This most recent was last summer I was diagnosed with stage for Hodgkin’s lymph Phoma metastasized to my bones. My oncologist did the Brentuximab infusions along with Immunotherapy, which I’ve had before. The immuno therapy never caused me to lose my hair. However, after the second Brentuximab treatment, I started to lose a lot of hair really bad. That was in November then I start because I was very sick. Then I did another one in February and I have been losing my hair like crazy ever cents. Every time I wash my hair, I lose large chunks of hair. It’s very noticeable I had to get my haircut to try to help hide it. But it’s all around the scalp. That centers my face. That’s where my hair loss mostly has taken place. I have lost a significant amount of hair. I stopped my last treatment February 15 of this year. I was just wondering if anyone else has undergone this treatment and how long it takes until your hair starts to grow back noticeably, and for your hair to stop shedding so terribly. I appreciate any advice I really do.
Hi Jess92 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I haven't had the same treatment as you, but I did loose my hair when on chemotherapy for breast cancer last year so I know how distressing it can be.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the Hodgkin lymphoma group as you'll then connect with others who may have had the same treatment as you and experienced hair loss.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
