Hi everyone , not sure if anyone could advise me in regards to cramps my mum is getting with severe cramps due we think to her treatment especially in the evenings and she isn't sleeping much at , so just wondered if anyone had any ideas how to ease the symptoms , as medics don't seem to be much help with this . TIA any help with this would be gratefully appreciated xxxxx
Hi PositiveVibeslifestoshort and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your mum is being troubled with severe cramps which is preventing her from sleeping. Having had chemo myself, I know your mum will have been given a 24 hour a day contact number for the chemo unit and she should give the number a call to see what they can recommend. Also, if any medication to help with the cramps needs to be prescribed the unit can organise this as well.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join the non-Hodgkin lymphoma group as it's a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who may also have experienced cramps while on chemo.
To join the group, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
