I’ve just learnt that I have bowel cancer. I’m at the stage where I have had all the tests available and am waiting to hear the teams decision as to what happens next. The time feels like I am in limbo, the extra long weekend not helping, and I feel very anxious and having difficult in sleeping. Are there any suggestions to get me through the next few days as to how to deal with the fact I can’t relax and feel shivery.
Hi Tufty53 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you have recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer and I know how difficult waiting for results can be.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups, can I recommend that you join the bowel cancer group as it's a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join the group, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Thanks lachbrook. Have since heard from MDT that results of tests were not as expected. I asked if it was good or bad news but was told it could not be discussed over the phone. I’ve an appointment 20 April but have all sorts of things going on in my mind.
I'm sorry to read that you've now got more time before you find out what has been found Tufty53 . I know from personal experience that results won't be told to you over the phone, even if it's good news. This is because you'll inevitably ask questions which the non-medical person phoning you to make the appointment is not allowed to answer.
I know that the 20th probably feels like ages away right now but remember, it's only next week.
(((hugs)))
Thanks latchbrook - I’ve got some medication from my gp to try to help. I’t was the specialist nurse who rang me but was unable to tell me what was going on. I know I shouldn’t complain because I’m the lucky position of having no symptoms whatsoever
