Hello everyone, I did post before but it has been a long time. So my mam had another scan in December last year as they found abnormal cells in her blood. Sadly the results were not good. The cancer has spread to the lining of the stomach and no cure. She is on palliative care chemotherapy at the moment. She has another scan in April to see if it has worked or if the cancer has spread further.
It feels such as strange and uneasy time at the moment. We do not know how long as she chose not to find out. I feel really uneasy and confused and angry and sad I suppose every emotion possible.
Hi again Santafe78 and so sorry to hear about how things have developed with your mum, this is such a challenging and stressful time for all the family.
As you may know the New to Community area is like our reception desk where we can help you connect in with others navigating the same challenges and when it comes to the practical and emotional challenges of supporting your mum you may benefit from posting in our Carers only support group that I see you have posted in before.
But you may also want to join and post in our Supporting someone with incurable cancer support group where you will connect with others navigating the exact same support challenges.

We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.
Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
