Hi

I've been on a bit of a journey, and this is my first time posting, as I am still struggling to even say the words let alone accept it.

I recently had stage 2 in my nipple duct which was removed and had lymph nodes removed as more were found.

Years ago I had stage 2 melanoma which didn't spread.

I'm feeling anxious about the next steps, and find it hard to accept at the minute

I cry at night when I'm alone ,and don't show to others how I'm really feeling, as I feel like they find it hard too

Sorry for rambling, but I couldn't sleep

Thank you all

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community. The cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but reaching out to the community will give you the opportunity to ask questions and getting support from others who are navigating the ‘exact’ same journey.

The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) and I can see that you have already joined our supportive Breast cancer support group. This is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

To post in the group first click on the “Bold Link” I have created above then once the group page opens you can then put up your own post when you’re ready by clicking “+new” or “+” in the top right next to the group title. You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.

You can also scroll through other members posts and click “Reply” to get involved.

Our Support Line teams are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00email or live webchat where you will find one of team there to help you out.

We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.

Do get back to me if you need further help ((hugs))

  • Thank you so much

I'm still struggling to even say the words out loud at the moment

I will take a look at the other group

    Xx

  • Yes the early days of accepting you have a cancer diagnosis is difficult but from my 23 years living with my incurable cancer the more you talk with people who have the same cancer ‘T’ shirt and have navigated the journey, the more you will start to take control and be able to not let your diagnosis define you.

You can actually take control of the noise between your ears and connecting in with the various support platforms I have highlighted is one massive positive step you can take to do this ((hugs))
