It’s a week after my diagnosis of endometrial cancer.  They are hoping to operate sometime in April.

i think it’s still sinking in but sometimes I don’t really now how I should be feeling.  Everyone seems more upset about it than I am.

My mom and gran have been through this and I think I always thought that it would come to me at some point.

  • Hi   and welcome to the Online Community but I am sorry to hear about your diagnoses.

The cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but reaching out to the community will give you the opportunity to ask questions and getting support from others who are navigating the ‘exact’ same journey.

The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) and I do see that you have already joined our supportive Womb (uterus) cancer support group. This is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

To go to the group click on the Bold Link” I have created above then once the group page opens you can then post in the group by clicking “+new” or “+” in the top right next to the group title. You can also scroll through other members posts and click “Reply” to get involved.

Our Support Line teams are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00email or live webchat we also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.

Do get back to me if you need further help.

  • Nice to hear from you and I know that feeling of the news affecting others more than yourself. I’ve been receiving treatment for a brain tumour for 10 years now and really only think of it when it’s time to head in for scans etc. it’s a very personal thing, but do it the best way you can and smile and say thanks to those who offer help/advice.

    stay strong

  • Cheers bud. I’m all good as far as support goes. I always pop into the Churchill centre for a cuppa when up there though:)
