Hi Harriet and welcome to the Online Community but I am sorry to hear that you are starting treatment.

I have no experience of this drug but talking to people on the 'exact' same journey would help you.

The Community is actually divided into dedicated support groups (discussion rooms) but you don’t say what type of cancer you have...... but if you care to have a look through THIS LIST you will find all our many dedicated cancer support groups listed.These groups are safe places to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Bold Link I have created above, have a look for 'your' cancer type group and join the group. You can then introduce yourself by putting up your own post (copy and paste the text from this post) or replying to existing posts.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.

Hi Harriet my mum just started on them 5 weeks ago so far they are ok.  She has commented this week that she is noticing some changes with taste.  It’s not all foods but some.  She is also quite tired too.   You are probably aware this treatment can cause skin changes so my mum has been using aveeno twice a day as the oncologist recommended keeping your skin well moisturised and also your nails snd lips as they can crack and become sore.   I hope this helps.
