Hi all as I am at a loose end I thought I might get some info from people on here about my problems with my blood cancer. I also have AIHA and am taking immunosuppressant drugs for this. As a result of a lowered immune system, I keep getting chest infections and have just been told I have a shadow on one of my lungs, which I assume to be another infection.
Has anyone else experienced the same problems I have and how do you self treat these?
Hi Ghengis and a warm welcome to the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Blood Cancer groups.
I don’t have Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukaemia (LGLL) but I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Low Grade NHL eventually reaching Stage 4a in late 2013 so although my Blood Cancer ‘type’ is different I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well...... and chest infections are part of my life unfortunately but I have a set of emergancy antibiotics at home to take at the first signs of a chest infection and this tends to control the infection developing.
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) so can I recommend you consider joining our general Leukaemia support group. This is a safe place to talk to others who 'may' have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Bold Group Link I have created above and join the group. You can then introduce yourself by putting up your own post (copy and paste the text from this post) or replying to existing posts.
I did a site wide search for Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukaemia and LGLL and found a number of older posts. So you may want to put Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukaemia and/or LGLL into the search tool , near the top, select 'anywhere' and have a look at the older posts and as always you can hit reply and see if the member is still using the site.
Always around to help more or just to chat
