Hi I’m new to the community and looking for friends. I’m 39 years old and recently divorced, cancer can be lonely. I have invasive ductal carcinoma, Her2 positive. I am currently going through chemo, lumpectomy scheduled for 4/25 and then radiation and targeted therapy.
Hi Hmaland and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
You are right that having a cancer diagnosis can make you feel lonely but I can guarantee that you won't feel lonely here I was diagnosed with TNBC last year and had a lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy and then radiotherapy. My treatment finished about 6 weeks ago and life is feeling good again.
I can see that you've already found and posted in the breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who will understand what you're going through.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
