Hi Everyone,
I'm Moz2407 / Moz and last Thursday I was diagnosed with Lymphoproliferative Disorder. I thought getting that initial diagnosis would put an end to my worry but now I find myself nervous about the next steps and how long they might take. Was told I should hear back within the week but that hasn't put my mind at ease at all and I find myself constantly thinking about it. Not worrying as such just preoccupied with it.
I guess I just want to get on with it. My biopsy has been sent UCH for further tests and my assumption is that in parallel with that I would need some form of PET/CT scan to determine where it all is.
For me it started with what my dentist and I assumed was an abscess on my gum last August; following several attempts at antibiotics, referal to a periodontist, draining, more antibiotics it was revealed to be a tumour of sorts and that's when I was quickly past through the NHS's screening program with a biopsy taking place the week leading up to Christmas.
So that's where I'm at right now. Lumpy old face, losing teeth (its in my jaw bone apparently) and watching the phone like a hawk so as not to miss a call and resisting the urge (and the gentle nagging of my wife to 'contact them')

Hi Moz2407 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
It's natural to find yourself thinking about your diagnosis but most people here will tell you that once they have a treatment plan in place they feel more in control.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so, as you mentioned the tumour is in your jaw, I'm going to suggest that you join and post in the head and neck cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created which will take you there. One you've joined, you can then start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and tests so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
