Does anyone know of a travel insurance company for my brother in law , he has prostate cancer and blood cancer . He has decided to stop his chemo tablets because he wants a better quality of life (time he has left ) months to 1year. We are hoping he will be able to still join us on a holiday  8th May -20th May 2023 .Any travel insurance information would be most welcome .

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sure your brother-in-law would look forward to the prospect of a holiday but, unfortunately, it can be more difficult to obtain travel insurance when you've had a cancer diagnosis.

I can see that you've already found and joined the travel insurance group which is a great place to see which companies other people have recommended. Can I suggest that you pop back to that group and have a look through the thread called 'recommended travel insurance' as you'll find lots of suggestions there.

Most people recommend that it's best to phone the insurance companies rather than try and do online quotes as often at the end of the online quote it will tell you to phone the company and you'll then have to go through all the information again. Also, sometimes the broker can refer to the underwriters to see if they would provide cover when an online quote might just give you a straight refusal.

I do hope your brother-in-law is able to find some reasonably priced travel insurance and that you all have a great holiday.
