Hi my mom suffers with depression has done for years but she has just had a lung cancer diagnosis and her depression has sent her into a dark place she says she wants to go to sleep and not wake up, she has been offered chemo but refused it she won't eat and is just staying in bed, has anyone got any advice for a family that just dosnt know what to say or do . Hi Lisa1234 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your mom has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and it's not uncommon for people to find the diagnosis very difficult to deal with.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to suggest that you join the family and friends group, which is a safe and supportive place to ask others how they've coped and how they've helped someone with depression.
You might also like to join the lung cancer group as this will give you the opportunity to talk directly with others who have had a similar diagnosis to your mom.

It would be great if you could pop something about your mom's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway.
