Just found out my 17year old son . My first born may have Lymphoma Cry Devastated doesn’t even come close

  • Hi  and warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although sorry that you had to find us and especially sorry to hear about your son’s Lymphoma diagnosis.

I am Mike and I help out around our Lymphoma groups. I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with a rare, incurable type of Low Grade Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma teaching stage 4 in late 2013 so I understand this journey rather well…… but I am still here living a great life and so will your son.

Over the years I have talked with many parents who were supporting their teenage children on Lymphoma journey and I am happy to say that they all did well during their treatment and are getting on with life. Please get that Lymphoma is very very treatable with great results.

There are over 60 types and subtypes of Lymphoma so we can’t have a group for every type but these are our main Lymphoma groups below.

    Hodgkin's Lymphoma

    General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma

    Follicular Lymphoma

    Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

    Mantel Cell Lymphoma

    T-cell lymphomas

    CLL, SLL, HCL

These groups are safe places to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support from family.

If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green (BOLD) Group Link I have created above. Once the group page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go.

I will keep an eye open for you but if you are not sure what type you have pleased do get back to me on this post and I will help you out further ((hugs))
