Hello all, Im not sure what I want from this forum but thought I would introduce myself and see where things go.

My real name is Chris and have recently had a diagnosis for Cancer in the back of my tongue (Primary) and my lymph node (secondary)

Currently awaiting a biopsy on the primary and then apparently a series of Chemo and Radio Therapy to follow.

I have refused to get down hearted about it all and am still very optimistic .So far I have  had very little involvement from my Mcmillan Nurse

who I met when I had my first diagnosis but Im sure all will be fine with her.

As I say I really dont know what I expect from being here but willing to post and comment if there is anything I feel I can contribute to.

Hi Chris, and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you have recently been diagnosed with cancer at the back of your tongue and I know what a difficult time this might be for you right now.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join and post in the head and neck cancer group, as this will give you the chance to connect with others with the same type of cancer.

To join just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
