Evening all

This is my first post

as Christmas fast approaches the sudden realisation hits me that it will be first Christmas without my beautiful daughter

lost her to cancer at the age of 22 is august

I have been trying to get to grips with the worst year of my life and really struggled as of late , to the point where I have been bottling everything up inside and it’s starting to effect other aspects of my life , hopefully this is the help I need to try and get me through

also lost a very close uncle and had to have my dog I had since she was 8 weeks put down too at the age of 14

three major bereavements in one twelve month period makes you think that life is just not fair but with your support I will get through it

thank you for reading

  • Hi   and welcome to the Online Community but so sorry to hear about your daughter, my sincere condolences.

A cancer journey like this can be such a challenging and stressful time but I do hope you will find the Community a safe place to get support and to ask your questions.

The Community is divided into support groups (discussion rooms) but I do see you have already joined and posted in our  supportive Bereaved family and friends support group. This is a safe place to talk to others who are navigating the same journey.

The Macmillan Support Line is open from 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 where you can talk with someone about practical information, get emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just connect with a listening ear.  We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing and aim to give support to all the family.

Please do get back to me if you need further help.
