Hi

I’m new- ish here, haven’t found my way around yet … is there a forum just for carers?

my hubby has two different types of cancer ( yep unlucky or what ?!?!!)  and most of the time I am cope fine, but every so often it would be good to have some support from people who’get’ it from a carer perspective

I’m so grateful that I still have him 10 years on from that first diagnosis,  and I don’t like to complain , but jeeze sometimes it just wears me down , the endless waiting for test results , scanxiety -

the feeling that I need to be strong but feeling so vulnerable and the fear of losing him never far away

anyway , just reaching out

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your husband has been diagnosed with two cancers but I know what that's like having been diagnosed with melanoma 6 years ago and then breast cancer earlier this year.

There is indeed a carers only group which, as it's name implies, is only for carers to post in. Clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can join and start a new post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi I too have a husband who has had previous cancer but now has inoperable cancer. He is due to come out of hospital with instructions to have only a liquid diet. I am feeling very depressed worrying what on earth I can feed him apart from soup all day everyday...will we ever share a nice meal again.
