Hi all, new to this being involved within a group chat especially about my own health issues. Reading some of the stories makes you realise what a cruel world this can be. I apologise for my  name but Mole being my nickname since teenage years seemed easy to pick, unfortunately it’s why I am now here due to one going bad to now cause me to have Metastatic Melanoma. Problem started in April 2020, no doctors about so referred with an appointment for November 2020. Removal then led to diagnosis of Malignant Melanoma, a WLE followed within 4 days of the phone call. Dermatology in Northampton we’re absolutely brilliant.

check ups went well with no worries until July 2022, when I found a lump 3 inches from original site. Within 10 days it was out, another WLE followed quickly but this time the results were not in my favour. More Melanoma was found. Another lump appeared along my pelvis overnight so a Ultrasound guided Biopsy was performed with news that this was Melanoma too. This all happened in September 2022 where they changed the condition to Metastatic. Now awaiting confirmation that I start immunotherapy soon as scans show I have 5 floaters too so they want to act to stop the spread.
I have total faith in everyone that the outcome will be a positive one. As you can imagine my partner and I have suffered mentally but I stay strong to help her. Plans for our wedding next June are complete and we are looking forward to that.
I will drop this in here…. I had a Heart Attack in December 2019 and a Triple Heart Bypass in the October of 2020. The resulting cleaning of my blood during the operation may have caused the Mole to surge as it took on a new form within days of coming out of hospital. I love my nickname but by god it’s kicked me up the arrrrrrs. Lol

if you’ve got this far…we’ll done.

still we fight. I applaud you all for the fight you fight. Stay strong please. I know I have faith in the NHS. Been fantastic for me.
take care all

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the Online Community but so sorry to hear about your diagnoses and journey.

A cancer journey is such a stressful and challenging time but you have done the right thing in reaching out to a place where you can ask questions and getting support from others who are on the ‘exact’ same cancer and journey.

The Community is divided into support groups (discussion rooms) and I do see you have joined our Melanoma support group. This is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) Group Link I have created above and once the group page opens you can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go. You could copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.

The Macmillan Support Line is open from 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 where you can talk with someone about specific cancer and practical information, get emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just connect with a listening ear.  We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

We also have our Telephone Buddy Service where you can be matched with someone who understands what you're going through, and they'll give you a weekly call.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing and aim to give support to all the family.

Do get back to me if you need further help.
