Good Morning,

I am new to the group and am currently undergoing chemotherapy for low grade serous ovarian cancer, following diagnosis in summer and de bulking surgery in September.

Whilst i was physically prepared for surgery etc, my mental state is suffering.

I have, for all of my adult life, suffered with anxiety, mostly social anxiety and it all seems overwhelming at the moment.  I wake (if i sleep) feeling restless, unable to concentrate and constantly panicky.

Added to this, being at home for extended periods add to the feeling of isolation and I'm worried it will develope and make me fearful to leave the house.

I have wonderful support from family and friends and I'm just wondering if anyone out there has similar problems. It's something I've always struggled with and never really spoke alot about.

Many thanks for listening

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you are struggling after your ovarian cancer diagnosis, but you've joined the right community for support.

I can see that you've already found and joined the ovarian cancer groupwhich is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

When you feel ready to post there you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
