Worrying about appointment

I have had a few procedures over the last few months for hoarse voice , cough and choking on food .
A patch of a acid  damage was found during an endoscopy and a camera up my nose and into my throat.
I then recieved an appointment to see an ENT doctor for end of December .  I was sent for a CT scan on my thyroid . Within days I was referred for an ultrasound on my thyroid . Today the appointment with ENT was cancelled for end of December and made  for this week instead . ( I was first told there was a 46 week wait to see ENT )
Is  this quite normal for routine results as they seemed quite insistent that I come in this week . So I’m worrying that they found something that’s urgent .
Thanks for any information

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

It's always a worrying time when an appointment is changed. It might just be that they've got a cancellation and you're next on the list to be offered it, it might not. You could give the consultant's secretary a call to see if she can tell you why your appointment has been altered.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join and post in the head and neck cancer group, not because I think you have cancer but because it's a great place to ask your question, share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

  • My main concern is always, when appointment is brought forward

Or a telephone appointment is then changed to a one to one appointment.

That is when I become extremely concerned. X
