hello everyone, ive just had my thyroid and lymph nodes removed. they suspected i have medullary thyroid cancer as i had a large cold nodule, high calcitotin and enlarged lymph node. whilst doing the surgery they did a quick frozen section test which didnt show anything malignant. the doctor has told me this is neither good or bad news and that i have to wait 7 - 10 days for results. everything seems a little gloomy right now. im terrified that i have cancer and it has spread past my lymph nodes. this might sound silly considering what some of you must be going through. im sat alone in a hospital room in germany recovering from surgery petrified that im about to die at 37 leaving my wife and 4 year old daughter behind.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm really sorry to read that you have suspected thyroid cancer and it's natural to be worried and scared.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join and post in the thyroid cancer group, not because I think you have cancer but because you'll then connect directly with others who are at, or have been at, the same stage as you are now.
To join just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
