I came into hospital Tuesday evening thinking I had kidney stones, the day later I was told it looked more like Lymphoma. All blood tests are pointing in the same direction just need to biopsy results to confirm which type I’m dealing with.
How did everyone cope with the waiting?
My mindset is very positive, it is what it is and I will totally be doing as I’m told and taking any treatment head on!
Im just VERY impatient
Hi and warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although sorry that you had to find us and especially sorry to hear about your ongoing diagnosis.
I am Mike and I help out around our Lymphoma groups. I was diagnosed back in 1999 with a rare, incurable Low Grade Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma so I understand this journey rather well.
How do you deal with the waiting?........ you just do... there is no other option and in reality you can't change what will be found - you are a passenger at the moment.
At this early stage it's best you don't go into the wrong group as it could well confuse yourself as there are over 60 types and sub-types of Lymphoma so we can’t have a group for every type but these are our main Lymphoma groups below.
The Diagnosis of Lymphoma can take some time but once you find out the exact type do join one of the groups.
General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma
These groups are safe places to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) Group Link I have created above. Once the group page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go. You could copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.
You can have a look through the groups but I will always be here to help you out until you get that clear diagnosis.
Hi Mike,
I have been looking through and getting confused so decided to post on here!
Thank you so much for the great information!
Lisa xx
Hi Lisa (quicker than using your community name ) you did the right thing.
Yes, it is VERY confusing so stick to this thread until you get an indication as to this being Hodgkin’s Lymphoma or one of the many many Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas and I can direct you in the right direction.
Happy to answer any questions you have ((hugs))
