Good morning,
First time here so just to introduce myself.
Will condense as much as I can as long story so far (only been 3 months).
My journey began when I received my recall letter to go to the breast clinic further to routine screening. The irony is when I asked the breast clinic for my 3 year appt was told my surgery was being called next year (backlog). But I got an appt for the 18th of July - I had no concerns - or thought anything was wrong.
So after a rollercoaster of further imaging, biopsies and scans I have breast cancer including a lymph node involvement - ER/PR-+/Her -. Have been on letrozole for nearly 7weeks. My last development was a finding of small lung nodules (ct scan) so my surgery is delayed and currently waiting to see the oncologist . I am having targeted therapy now probably CDK4 inhibitor. They cannot do a biopsy but suspect mets.
Needless to say I am full of anxiety/worry - mind taking me to the worst case scenario etc etc. Unsure of side effects of this therapy plus the agonising wait for my apppt - planned for over 6 weeks after seeing the consultant. Another 3 weeks to go unless I get an earlier appt.....
I am trying to do things but struggling to keep my mind off things. Still working . I have never had health issues and feel I am releatively fit.
Unsure if anyone can identify with the above .
Hope everyone is going along the best they can- looking forward to engaging in some conversations.
Best wishes to you all x
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Like you, I discovered I had breast cancer after being recalled from a routine mammogram, so I understand the emotions you'll be feeling right now.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join and post in the breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
x
