Hi,

I’ve had bleeding in between periods, lower abdominal pain and discomfort in my hip bones for a few months. Had a transvaginal ultrasound last week and was told to expect the results in a week, but the following morning got a call from my GP saying they’d seen a growth on my endometrial lining and wanted me in for a hysterescopy within two weeks. im just waiting for the appointment. They’ve said no an aesthetic will be used as they prefer not to ‘for speed’ eek. Just wanted other peoples experience of this procedure and the wait for results. I’m terrified. Trying not to let it consume me, but my family cancer history is pretty depressing. Lost my nan, both parents and my Aunty.

this is also hot on the heels of just being told that I have a bowel and vaginal prolapse caused by my son’s traumatic birth. (He’s now 4!)

feeling quite low. Thanks for reading x

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry that you've got the worry of waiting for an appointment on top of everything else you're dealing with.

As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the womb cancer group. When you feel ready that would be an excellent place to ask for experiences of having a hysteroscopy.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
