Do you just work through all the pain to get to acceptance. Walked out off the clinic appointment and felt abandoned. Where do you go from here

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm really sorry to read that you have recently been given a terminal diagnosis and I can only begin to imagine how that must feel.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join the living with incurable cancer group, which is specifically for people with an incurable or terminal diagnosis to talk about things such as coping with your diagnosis or about making the most of your life.

To join just click on the link I've provided which will take you directly to the group. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with exiting conversations by clicking on 'reply.

If you'd like to connect with people who have the same type of cancer as you so that you can talk about treatments, etc then you can either look through this list to find the appropriate one or tell me what type of cancer you have, and I'll provide you with a link to the group.

When you feel up to it, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
