Not sure what to ask or say! Am very stressed & emotional trying to deal with his diagnosis which is terminal - treatment is buying him time but that is months not years. How do you deal with your own feelings let alone supporting your loved one whilst he wants me just to carry on with our (his) business? I do not sleep much & am constantly worried about life in general. It has taken me 3 weeks to post this & am dropping tears on my phone

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your husband has oesophageal cancer and it's perfectly natural to feel like you do.

As you know the online community is divided up into different support groups and I can see you've already joined and posted in the oesophageal cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences regarding treatment, etc.

Can I also recommend that you join the carers only group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries and concerns with others who have someone living with cancer.

To join just click on the link I've provided which will take you directly to the group. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with exiting conversations by clicking on 'reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
