Hi,

I am a 47 mother of two teenager boys.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer (grade 2 - invasive ducal carcinoma) on 10 August 2022.

Life has just gone by in a daze since being diagnosed - having had a full mastectomy and reconstruction on 16 September 2022.

Am reaching out to anyone who has under gone a similar experience for chats, advice and rants!

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you were recently diagnosed with breast cancer but glad to hear that your treatment has already started. I had a lumpectomy back in April and I'm nearly halfway through chemotherapy.

I can see that you've already found and posted in the breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support. I'm sure you'll get replies soon.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
