My husband has just been diagnosed with secondary melanoma of his lymph nodes and is currently waiting for a date for the op to remove the nodes.  I'm absolutely terrified that it's going to spread to his organs (it hasn't spread according to the scans he's had)....just praying and keeping everything crossed for him. He list his mum and brother last year to cancer, we've already had too much loss...please send some positive thoughts xx

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your husband has recently been diagnosed with melanoma which has spread to his lymph nodes and I know what a difficult time this will be for you both.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the melanoma group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from those of us who have had a melanoma diagnosis. You'll also find people there whose melanoma has spread.

To join, just click on the link I've provided which will take you directly to the group. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with exiting conversations by clicking on 'reply.

When you feel up to it, it would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

This link will take you to a blog which explains how to get the best out of the online community but if you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
