Not been diagnosed yet but had lots of blood tests and ultrasound on neck so waiting for results. had two lumps in my neck for a year no pain. By time i saw ENT i had three lumps. One either side and one left side under superclavical. Got bit of cough for just as long but started coughing up mucus from lungs. Fatigue that wont go away, trouble eating, night sweats, weight gain. Cancer is a big killer in my family and im so worried. Last few weeks my neck on left side has become sort of thick feeling like its stuffed full. Not painful just uncomfortable. The waiting is horrible. Im 41 married and have a 9yr old son. We have two german shepherds and live in Scotland. Im trying to keep myself busy with crafts but my mind is in over drive.

Hello all

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community although I am sorry to see you joining us and to hear about your ongoing diagnoses….. and an extra welcome from Inverness.

The cancer diagnosis process can be such a stressful and challenging time and if you find yourself on a cancer journey there is nothing better than talking with others who are on the exact same cancer and treatment journey.

Raised lumps/lymph nodes in the neck area can be down to many reasons so let’s see what comes along.

The Community is divided into support groups (discussion rooms) so if you do get a cancer diagnosis then you can have a look through this list where you will find all our many dedicated cancer support groups listed.

These groups are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

When you want to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) link I have created above. Find the group for your cancer then when group page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go. You could copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.

Macmillan have many support services so do check out the Macmillan Support Line open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. These services provide cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.

We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing and aim to give support to all the family.

Do get back to me if you need further help.

    All the very best.

Blood tests are normal but just found two more lumps around clavicle one so thats five lumps now. I dont know what to do. The ultrasound showed lots of lumps and radiographer took lots of measurements. Wont get results for a few weeks. I just feel something is wrong

  • The diagnosis process is very challenging but let’s look for the results to come back quickly.

Your in the system and the system will do the job and get clarity.

In the mean time could I suggest you call the Macmillan Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 and talk things through with our support team.
