Hello,
my husband Peter and I went to his appointment on Thursday, expecting for him to have an ultrasound scan to see if his gallstone was inflamed or block and if there were other areas in that site that were similar.
instead we were greeted by an oncologist who was very nice. He asked Peter to lay on the examination table and then felt around his tummy. He then broke the news to us that he felt that Peter has secondary liver cancer.
he hasn’t had any scans he did have some bloods taken at the doctors surgery. At the appointment he had more bloods done and we met a nurse who gave us her details to contact her for any questions which I will do tomorrow.
can I ask is this a normal way of telling you this news just by feel? Just asking I think for opinions
thank you for reading my post x
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your husband has secondary liver cancer and I know what a difficult time this will be for you both.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups, I'm going to recommend that you join the secondary liver cancer group which will give you the opportunity to ask your question about diagnosis directly to others with the same diagnosis.
To join just click on the link I've created which will take you straight to the group where you can then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
This link will take you to a blog which explains how to get the best out of the online community but if you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
x
