Hi - this may not (or hopefully will) be my only post here. Tomorrow I will see the urology specialist about a lump in my scrotum. I've had an ultrasound, and had comments like "I've never seen something like this before". Also bloods, which I will hear about tomorrow. Like everyone here, I am very nervous about this. Any thoughts...I am a practicing Buddhist, so I am looking to transform this karma, but still human, feeling very vertiginous.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community although I am sorry to see you joining us and to hear about your ongoing diagnoses.

The diagnosis process can be such a stressful and challenging time but if you do find yourself on a cancer rollercoaster there will be nothing better than talking with others who are on the exact same cancer and treatment journey.

The Community is divided into support groups (discussion rooms) and in this list you will find all our many dedicated cancer support groups listed. These are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

So if you do need to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) link I have created above and once you find the group for your cancer open the link then click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go.

As for advise….. I have been on my incurable blood cancer journey for over 23 years so it’s all part of life. I have had many bumps/relapses over the years so my mindset has always been ‘look for the positive deal with the not positive….’ being a practicing Christian makes a massive difference.

Macmillan have many support services so do check out the Macmillan Support Line open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. These services provide cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.

Do get back to me if you need further help but let’s look for this to be your only post on the community.

    All the very best.
