Hi all,

Don’t know where to start. Had a few upset stomachs and saw blood in poo. So GP was on it to investigate. Last week had a colonoscopy and the Consultant found polyps and a tumour he said is malignant but needed biopsy. Now waiting.
How do I cope with the Wait? What do I do if more symptoms happen? Feeling lost and in disbelief.

any suggestions, advice would be gratefully received.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Waiting for the results of tests can be very hard and I have found that doing things I enjoy helps keep my mind away from the 'what ifs'. Do you have any hobbies or activities that you enjoy doing as now would be the time to indulge.

Lots of people find mindfulness really helpful and if this is something that you'd like to know about clicking here will take you to the NHS website about it.

The online community is divided up into different support groups where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support. Do you know what type of cancer you are suspected of having? If so you can either look through this list to join the right group or tell me and I'll provide you with a direct link to that group.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
