Terminal Liver Cancer

My 88 year old husband was diagnosed with Terminal Liver Cancer early in April.  He also has low blood pressure and can't have surgery or Chemo.  He has mild Parkinsons Disease and is registered partially sighted.  He is currently in residential nursing  care.  He is not well enough to come home  but I would like him home. He is in a unit of Dementia residents but he has not got Dementia.  He is unable to walk after being hospitalised since 2nd April  and too weak to move about without carers. He has no mental stimulation from anywhere around him so I spend 6 hours each day  with him  mostly in his room or we can sometimes get out with the aid of a wheelchair adapted taxi.  He feels frustrated, being of sound mind and this is showing an unnecessary mental health strain.  It also affects me as I am helpless to do anything to change the situation.  I really need help.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read about the situation with your husband and i can totally understand why you'd want to talk to others who may be in a similar situation.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the carers only group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries and concerns with others who have a loved one living with cancer.

To join just click on the link I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
